Anapliotiko Carnival 2025: “Carnival entanglements” full of joy and optimism

The Anapliotiko Carnival, reborn from Venetian events and the Comedia Del' Arte, this year encounters images of everyday life which it satirizes and expresses joy and optimism, creating the Carnival Complexities. Through the Anapliotiko Carnival Complexities , the organizers bring to the surface the positive emotions of residents and visitors.

This year's renewed program is based on a new logic of strengthening all events, both in Nafplio and in the region of the Municipality, placing particular emphasis on its beginning, as well as on the last two three-day period with impressive events, which are expected to attract the interest of locals and visitors.

The events begin on Sunday, February 9, 2025 and will culminate on the first weekend of March and Clean Monday, with the Venetian events, the grand Carnival parade, the koulouma and the kite competition.

In the Municipality of Nafplio , the city of Nafplio is a natural setting for exploring, getting to know other people, having fun in every alley, becoming a member of the Domino team , playing with them and taking part in the carnival parade.

However, if you want to experience it more traditionally but carnival-like, you will not only walk to Nafplio but also to Tolo where you will see a parade of carnival floats on the last Sunday and you will party to your heart's content.

On Shrove Monday, however, you can also travel to one of the villages of Asini, Drepano, Vivari, Iria for traditional koulouma, kite flying and feasting. Agia Triada, Midea, Tiryntha, Agios Adrianos , and even Arachneio will ensure that you have the traditional fun you are looking for throughout the carnival period, through the revival of local customs and flavors. You will have a good time and you will eat even better.
